You are assured of a warm and friendly welcome, whether in winter by the roaring log fires or summer in the garden, courtyard or terrace surrounded by an abundance of flowering baskets and beds.

Three double bedrooms with en-suite shower, colour TV, Tea/Coffee making facilities and hairdryers.

The two newly converted luxury bedrooms across the cobbled courtyard in September Cottage also offer full bathroom, video, Hi-Fi and sitting area. Restored using local materials, leaving exposed beams and brickwork, they offer every comfort that discerning guests would expect.

And a further sixth room has just been finished in the old bottle store also across the courtyard which so far has been a real hit.

All our rooms offer tasteful and comfortable en-suite accommodation.

Relax and take a meal in our cosy bar or tastefully decorated and intimate restaurant. Our extensive menu ranges from good old home-made pies to fine international cuisine using only the finest quality produce. Typical dishes include:

Sauteed King Prawns with Gingered Fruit & Frisse
Halibut Poached in Red Wine with Braised Baby Gem, Turned Potato & Horseradish Creme Fraiche
Slow Roast Belly Port with Rosti Potato, Leek Tagliatelle & Sweet Mustard Dressing
Lamb Chump with Salad of Feves, Peashoots & Mint with a Red Wine Syrup

And an excellent selection of Vegetarian Dishes and smaller portions for children.

The Location
Situated in the Peak District National Park, The Plough Inn is ideally situated as a base from which to explore this beautiful part of Derbyshire.

A visit to Castleton with it's world famous Blue John Mines is ten minutes drive along the picturesque Hope Valley.

Close by are the statey homes of Chatsworth and Haddon Hall.

Amongst other places of interest in the locality is the plague village of Eyam and the market town of Bakewell, famous for it's Bakewell Pudding.
