Perfect timing at The Heights of Abraham Matlock Bath as the Spring and the start of DAILY opening are trumpeted in with 10,000 daffodils coming in to bloom. But wait that’s not all - they also herald the latest innovation at Derbyshire’s peak attraction, which may also be the oldest but it has always been creative as seen by the iconic Cable Cars.
This weekend saw the first of thousands of children get the chance to experience the thrills and excitement of the new” Woodland Adventure” play and activity area set in the woods just below the Treetops Visitor Centre. Produced and designed by one of Europe’s premier play equipment manufacturers, this is a stunning update of our previous much played upon equipment on the Lower Play Area.
Children experienced the thrills of scrambling through the woodland structure; some braved giant nets, whizzed down slides and climbed the walls, whilst others dared to balance along the suspended rope and face the fun filled challenges of this inspirational new feature.
“We realised in the current economic climate that our visitors would be looking for best value for their money.” commented Rupert Pugh, Director, “With the Cable Car ride, guided tours of 2 Show Caverns, exhibitions and woodland walks, new play equipment for children was an obvious next step for us. Over recent years the Explorers Challenge has always been very popular and we know that children will love this new and innovative development.”
The play area compliments all the inclusive attractions at The Heights of Abraham at no extra cost to the visitor. The” Woodland Adventure” playground is for children and all those still young at heart!
Also this Spring there is a new look website, more events and a photographic competition to be launched shortly. Log on to www.heightsofabraham.com for details.
