How to get to Hope

Hope lies in the centre of the Hope Valley between the Dark and the White Peak areas of the Peak District. Castleton appears on most sign posts and Hope is just before this beautiful little village.

From Manchester:
A shuttle bus operates from Edale and Hope railway station to take the visitor to the caverns and Castleton, which operates at weekends and on bank holidays throughout the year. Edale and Hope stations are approximately 50 minutes journey time from Manchester.

From Sheffield:
A bus service connects Sheffield, 16 miles away, runs through Hope and then onto Castleton. The Sheffield -Ecclesall-Fox House-Hathersage-Bradwell-Hope runs most of the time and the journey time varies between 58 min and one hour 11 min.

By railway:
There is an actual  Hope station, which is 2 and a half miles to the east of Castleton

By Car:
Entering Hope from the East (M1, Sheffield/Chesterfield) take the A6187 to Castleton. From the West (M6/Chapel en le Frith/Buxton) take the unclassified road Chapel en le Frith towards Castleton.
