How To Get To Matlock

From the M1 South, take junction 28 and then the A38 to Alfreton. Look out for the major roundabout and take the third exit signposted A61 north. Then take the next left towards South Wingfield , the A615. Stay on this road through Wessington and Tansley, and you will reach Matlock in no time.

From the M1 north, take junction 29 and then the A617 towards Chesterfield. Take the first exit at the roundabout, signpost Derby Road A61. At the traffic lights turn right onto St Augustine's Rd/Whitecoats Lane and join the A632 and follow it all the way to Matlock.

From Manchester take the A6 to Buxton and continue on this road all the way through Bakewell to Matlock.

From Stoke-on-Trent take the A52 towards Ashbourne and head north for a short time on the A515. Turn right onto The Green Road towards Kniveton, Knockerdown and Carsington and continue on this road to Cromford. At the T-junction turn left onto the A6 towards Matlock.

Getting to Matlock by Bus: there are various bus services which pass through Matlock, including the number 17, from Chesterfield - Ashbourne (in summer this service operates Sundays as well) . The 140 from Alfreton and Ripley, also the 213 Wirksworth to Sheffield/Meadowhall service.

Getting to Matlock by Rail: Central trains run a very regular service from Derby to Matlock. Look online for cancellations or delays before departure.

Getting to Matlock by Plane: The nearest airports to Matlock are Manchester, Robin Hood Doncaster, Birmingham or Nottingham East Midlands.
