Well, aren't we having a mild winter?
As much as I hate driving in the snow as I'm sure you do, I bet like me I bet when the snow comes I bet you can't help act like a little child.
Like I say though, unfortunately so far for the 2011-2012 winter season it has been quite a mild affair with very little snow what so ever. However, I did manage to catch quite a bit of snow 2 weeks in a row around the Buxton area and had a thoroughly enjoyable time around the Chrome and Parkhouse Hill area as well as on Ramshaw Rocks. One thing I have come to realise over the last few years is if anywhere gets the snow it's Buxton and as a result try to plan my shoots around that area. I regularly check the Flash Bar Stores webcam to see what the snow conditions are like and find it an invaluable resource. Of course you can always pop into the shop on your travels, buy a bacon butty after sunrise and maybe who knows one of my greetings cards?
For example in December 2011 twice I went out around that area in knee-high snow while I could see in the Hope Valley there was only a dusting of snow on the tops and in some places no snow at all.
I think unfortunately at the rate we're going we won't be getting much more snow this seasons so shots will be limited, but here's to hoping and here's a selection of my images from the previous years.
