Users of the world’s largest travel website have voted Losehill House Hotel & Spa as one of the UK’s top three hotels for relaxation and pampering.
The 21-bedroom boutique hotel, a secluded hideaway between Castleton and Edale, is ranked third in a list of 25 top venues making up the relaxation/spa hotel category of TripAdvisor’s 2012 Travellers’ Choice awards.
The website bases its awards on the millions of reviews and opinions of travellers from around the world. Losehill is the only Derbyshire venue to make the llst and is delighted with its high ranking.
“Everyone in the hotel business knows that TripAdvisor can be a very critical judge - to come third in its awards is a fantastic achievement for us,” says owner Paul Roden, who acquired the hotel with wife Kathryn in October 2007.
“This is a wonderful reward for the hard work of our staff and we can only thank all of the guests who told TripAdvisor about us.”
Facilities include a spa complete with heated indoor pool, sauna and al fresco hot tub with stunning views. Dedicated treatment rooms offer a comprehensive range of treatments from the luxurious Thalgo range.
The hotel’s award-winning Orangery restaurant features windows on three sides, giving panoramic views of the surrounding hills. Head chef Darren Goodwin uses locally-sourced, free-range and organic produce where possible.
The TripAdvisor award is the latest in a series of accolades for Losehill House Hotel & Spa. In 2010 it became the only four star hotel in the Peak District National Park. Listed in the 2011 and 2012 Michelin Travel Guide, it also holds two AA Rosettes for the quality of its food.
Losehill attracts guests from far and wide - recent visitors have travelled from New York, Brussels, Hong Kong and Seattle, not to mention from all points in the British Isles.
Celebrity guests include TV explorer Ben Fogle, musician David Gray, Prof Stephen Hawking and Radio Two disc jockey Stuart Maconie.
