Description:

Fancy some Fun With Colour?

Painting Your Own Pottery is a fantastic fun family activity or ideal for adult ‘chill out’ time.  It’s suitable for all ages and abilities – no artistic talent required!  Give it a go and you’ll be amazed at the results.

How does it Work?
Simple– pick a pot and paint it!  There’s lots of choice and something to suit everyone - from dragons to flowers, tableware and keepsakes as well as seasonal items.  We’ll give you help and guidance to help you create your own unique masterpiece using simple techniques such as sponging, painting and stencilling.

What happens next?
Once you have finished your pot we will glaze and fire it for you.  This is an overnight process and we ask you to call back usually a few days later to collect your item.  Alternatively we can arrange to post the items on to you.

In a Hurry?
Ornaments and keepsakes can be painted in acrylics and will be dry to take away in around 30 mins.

Group Bookings
Childrens Parties
Try something different - a stress free party! Ceramic painting is a popular activity for boys and girls of all ages and an ideal ‘party’ event.  There are lots of items to choose from.  ‘Useful’ items such as mugs, plates and bowls are always popular and practical, or items such as trinket boxes, money boxes and figurines may also be chosen to suit individual preferences and budgets!

Youth Groups & Schools
The Studio seats 24 so it is suitable for schools and other children’s groups wanting to provide a unique creative experience.  Tie it in to a school curriculum project or simply let creativity take its course.  It can be used in support of any number of projects across a wide range of ages.  For example:
Juniors at Worksop painted their own Willow Pattern Plates
Dronfield Rainbows, Brownies and Guides painted Christmas Tree Decoratons  St Anselms Pre Prep painted ‘Christmas Robins’ mugs, plates and bowls    Robert Sandilands Y6 pupils used the history of Eyam to inspire designs for coasters

Ladies Events/Hen Parties
Make time for you!  Escape the housework, the children, the husband and the dog to ‘chill out and paint’.  An ideal activity for a group of friends, W.I., Tangent etc.  Arrange a morning, afternoon or evening event at the Studio in Eyam or we can visit you at a venue of your choice.  Artistic talent is not required – we will show you simple and effective decorative techniques and provide as much or as little help as you want.  Please book a month in advance.

New Baby?
Capture the Moment with baby hand and foot prints.  Create a unique keepsake, easy, effective and endearing. Great gifts for special members or godparents, fond memento's for yourself. It’s a simple and painless process, the paints are non–toxic and wipe off easily. Choose from round or square tiles, plates, mugs or anything else with a flat surface!  Footprints may be done from birth onwards – as long as the pot is big enough! Handprints may be done from age 6 months.

Mobile Events – book a session at your nursery/play group at discount prices.

MAY DAY is CLAY DAY

Join us on Monday 7th of May for a Hands On Clay experience.  This is a regular yearly event at The Painted Plate where you get chance to get your hands dirty and 'throw' a pot or hand build a 'Fabulous Fsh'.  Potter Dominic Gage will be helping you out on the Potters Wheel while Gail Piper, owner of The Painted Plate, will be providing guidance to make the fish.

This is a charity event so it is not possible to book ahead  - just turn up and grab a ticket but be prepared to wait if it is busy.  Costs will be £2.50 per item.  Please be aware that once fired pots have to be left to dry out and be fired which usually takes a couple of weeks.

Throwing starts at 10.30 am until 4 pm with a short break for lunch around 1pm.  See you there!
