Description: Sherrie Mason has been in art and design for over 25 years, which given her a solid foundation in the use of colour, texture and design and the inspiration and direction to put her design ideas on to the very special medium of silk.
A member of 'The Guild of Silk Painters', and also a member of the 'Federation of Small Businesses', she finds working with silk is always a pleasure and a surprise, as each and every fibre is unique. This makes it a truly natural product. No two pieces are ever the same.
The very feel of silk is luxurious.
Sherrie’s inspiration for her work comes from her love of nature and travels both in the U.K. and abroad, from her own garden and the hidden gems you find there, to the open countryside, mountains and further afield to the islands of the Caribbean. Passionate about silk and creating individual, innovative and truly luxurious items to wear and own.
Every piece of silk is stretched onto a frame, the design is then hand painted with silk dye, directly on to the silk, then steam fixed. (This is not silk screening) Each piece of work is unique. Each scarf, tie, scatter cushion and wall hanging is an individual design and no two are ever the same. If you would like to try silk painting we are now taking bookings for workshops. Commissions are always welcome.

Gift vouchers are available, and can be used for the purchase of scarves, ties, scatter cushions and wall hangings or workshops as full or part payment. They come presented in a gift card. Please contact us as payment can be taken over the phone and vouchers sent on.
DAY WORKSHOPS
Make your own wall hanging.
The morning starts with tea/coffee and biscuits and a short introduction.
You will then be shown how to stretch your silk on to a frame before you decorate and paint your silk square as you wish. You will get to try several techniques on silk using high quality inks. It then has to be fixed, to seal the design into the silk and can then be Dry Cleaned.
From that, you can either make your design into a wall hanging and take it home to hang on the wall or to embellish further with beads and threads.
START 10:30am to approx 5:00pm
COST £55.00 per person which includes everything you need; tea/coffee, lunch and ALL art materials. Just bring a smile
