The Cottage, built in 1650 was lovingly restored in 1988 is quietly situated below Peveril Castle, in the picturesque village of Castleton, the ideal place for a relaxing break.
 
The comfortable en-suite bedrooms, (one Twin and two Double Four-Posters) all have tea & coffee making facilities, colour television, radios, hairdryers and a few extra things to help make your stay more comfortable. A hearty English breakfast is served around the large oak table in our lovely dining room with oak beams and a Derbyshire Gritstone Fireplace. The cottage nestles at the foot of the Castle hill. There are six local hostelries all serving bar meals, also several Tea Rooms within walking distance, some of which we can highly recommend. Packed lunches are available on request. Children over 12 years old are welcome. Sorry no pets. No smoking. We are open all year round apart from Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day nights. Ample private forecourt parking for all our guests. We hope you enjoy our home, and make it yours whilst staying with us.

Castleton is a fabulous base for touring and walking the beautiful Peak District and indeed for exploring the variety of stunning sites the Hope Valley has to offer. Nearby attractions include Peveril Castle (built in 1080), the show caves - some famous for the rare mineral "Blue John", the historic homes of Chatsworth, Haddon, Eyam, Hardwick and Lyme Park, the market town of Bakewell, home of the famous "Bakewell Pudding", the Ladybower, Derwent and Howden reservoirs of "Dam Buster" fame, and of course the well trodden walks of the Pennine Way, Kinder Scout, Limestone Way and Dovedale to name but a few.
