Mayfield Hall offers country house accommodation in Ashbourne, near Derby, the gateway to the Peak District National Park and only 6 miles from Alton Towers.
A handsome Georgian Manor House, situated in an idyllic location. So if you are visiting the area for pleasure there is plenty to keep you occupied whatever the weather. The Hall nestles in 3 acres of gardens comprising of formal lawned gardens with large pond, banks of rhododendrons, kitchen gardens and orchard. There are plenty of local walks which take you around the Hall and down to the River Dove to the former haunts of Thomas Moore and Lord Byron.
Modernised in 2006 to the highest of standards including re-roofing, re-configuration, re-wiring, re-plumbing and re-decoration, the Hall offers the highest standard of accommodation.
We offer Country House Accommodation on a Bed & Breakfast basis within the Hall’s North Wing and have 6 double rooms each having their own individual characteristics. One of which has a four poster bed and marble en-suite for a romantic break. We also can cater for families if required. All of our rooms have stunning views over the surrounding gardens.
Guests have their own entrance to the accommodation through the front door leading off the courtyard (probably used as the Tradesman’s Entrance in years gone by!). This leads into the Entrance Hall with limestone floor, Utility room, Boot room and cloak/shower room on the ground floor.
Breakfast is taken in the dining room, with Oak panelling throughout. The windows look out over the formal gardens and pond - an ideal setting to wake up slowly over breakfast. There is a huge choice for breakfast, ranging from a full English breakfast using locally cured bacon, sausages and free range eggs, smoked salmon and scrambled eggs through to Poached eggs on toast.
You can help yourself to fresh fruit juices, selection of cereal and toast with tea and ground coffee being made freshly for you. A great of care is taken in the preparation of a good breakfast after all there is no better way to start the day!
