The Lodge and The Barn - Gratton, Nr Bakewell


    The Barn stands behind the stables, enjoying its own private views, out of sight of guests in The Lodge and ourselves at Dale End House. For those of you who enjoy coming to stay at The Lodge, nothing changes there, it will be as peaceful as ever! It just means you can now bring your friends and family along too!

    The Barn sleeps 8 and comprises 4 double en suite rooms, and a large open plan lounge/dining area with full height beamed ceiling and stunning views down the valley to distant farmhouses and hills. For those booking on a self catering basis there is a large kitchen with all mod cons!.

    2 of the 4 bedrooms can be set up with a double or two singles beds as required. 3 of the bedrooms have showers, 1 has a bath.

    Like The Lodge, our simple aim is to provide high quality luxury accommodation on a uniquely flexible basis; Self-catering or B&B, couples, or families and groups of 4 to 10, here in the heart of the Peak District National Park.

    Well behaved dogs are always welcome at both The Lodge and The Barn.

    This beautiful Cottage is outstanding and look no further if you want luxury, beautiful countryside, peace and quite, a farmyard country feel and a local, rustic, unchanged pub up the road! If you want breakfast prepared for you – no problem, it even comes with room service to the living/dining area of your cottage! This is a real treat of a get away!

    One of just six houses in the parish of Gratton, Dale End House is found on a quiet lane between Elton and Youlgreave. It enjoys unspoilt countryside, popular with walkers and mountain bikers alike yet is only six miles from Bakewell and Matlock.

    Self-catering accommodation is available at The Lodge, a stone built former milking parlour set within the grounds of this fine Grade II listed Derbyshire long house.

    The Lodge has recently been loving restored to an exceptionally high standard. It has a large open plan lounge with sofa and TV, a dining area and shower room. Under floor heating throughout.

    The bedroom has an antique double bed with down duvet and feather pillows romantically lit by a crystal chandelier. Decorated throughout with fine furnishings and historical colours.

    Overlooking a courtyard with ducks, goats, chickens and a traditional 2 storey stable block on one side and open fields, sheep and a babbling brook on the other.

    There is ample parking and secure indoor space for bikes; with 4 stables you can even bring your horse!

    The Lodge is non-smoking.

    Obedient dogs are welcome for a small additional cost.

    We discovered the house whilst mountain biking through Gratton Dale and instantly fell in love with it. Surrounded by breathtaking views, and abundant wildlife - Gratton is one of Derbyshire’s best-kept secrets.
