Winster is brilliant too! Its cottages cascade down the hillside into beautiful Wensley Dale. Discover the little lanes and alleyways through the village on leisurely walks from the door to the many nearby features – the Limestone Way, Robin Hoods Stride, Cratcliff Tor, Nine Ladies Circle, Clough Wood, Magpie Mine or the two remaining village pubs, the Old Bowling Green and the Miners Standard which both provide fine ales and good food.
Within 15 minutes drive you can visit the landmark homes of Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall, the picturesque villages of Hartington and Tissington, the renowned towns of Bakewell and Matlock or even go sailing at Carsington Water or trout fishing on the rivers Wye or Dove.
Room rates from £90 (depending on which room and how long you stay) include afternoon tea on arrival and breakfast of fresh fruit, full English breakfast with locally sourced ingredients or a variety of lighter options.
