Description: Alsop Rivendale Ltd ....
Surrounded by the stunning limestone scenery of the White Peak near Dove Dale, Rivendale provides a tranquil location from which to explore the Peak District National Park and the numerous attractions close by.
Open all year (including Xmas and New Year’s Day) we welcome caravans and motor-homes on a choice of hard-standing, 50/50 or all grass surfaces. Camping may be traditional on the wild flower meadow with the option of a real camp fire (subject to terms) or have 16 amp hook ups in the main pitching area (bbq’s only).
For clients who like a camping experience in greater comfort without the need to pack up wet muddy tents at the end of their stay, we have a range of Yurts and Camping Pods, some with wood-burning stoves or BBQ’s built in. We also have a traditional Scandinavian wood-fired hot tub which may be used next to the Yurts or Pods.
Visitors looking for luxurious accommodation need look no further than the holiday caravans and lodges, most of which offer gas central heating, sun decks, fully fitted kitchens comparable with the most luxurious self-catering cottages.
We also offer a WiFi cafe, pub and restaurant on site in the attractive stone club buildings serving delicious meals made from excellent local produce. There is also a laundrette, accessible toilet and shower and baby changing facilities in our luxurious, stone-built, under-floor heated shower buildings.
Rivendale is ideal for customers enjoying outdoor activities – particularly walking and cycling with the Tissington Trail just 100 metres from our gates and public footpaths crossing our site leading into Eaton, Biggin, Alsop and the upper reaches of Dove Dale. A new fishing lake is scheduled to open during 2011 on site, and a wide range of other activities from pony trekking to sailing and rock-climbing are available in the vicinity.
Popular local attractions include Alton Towers, Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Gulliver’s Kingdom, Heights of Abraham, Carsington Reservoir, Go-Ape!, National Tram Museum, Arkwright’s Mill etc etc.......There are also the local well-dressings, arts and festivals at nearby Bakewell, Ashbourne & Buxton and the villages of Tissington, Hartington & Parwich – plenty to do even in bad weather.
