Why not enjoy trout fishing at Rivendale. Our Fishing Lake is about an acre in size, the lake is ideal for beginners learning to cast - or more experienced anglers wanting to polish "rusty" casting technique before tackling the renowned limestone rivers nearby such as the rivers Dove, Manifold and Wye where the casting is considerably more challenging.

It will also be favoured by anglers who do not like boat fishing (either due to cost or an aversion to being afloat) and those who simply want a good chance of catching fish, unlike larger waters where choice of tactics and location is more crucial to success. However, whilst casting is relatively easy and the evening rise prolific, the clarity of the water still requires stealth and good fly presentation - the perfect introduction to the fly fishing skills required to explore the areas superb fly fishing waters.

Rivendale is ideal for customers enjoying outdoor activities – particularly walking and cycling with the Tissington Trail just 100 metres from our gates and public footpaths crossing our site leading into Eaton, Biggin, Alsop and the upper reaches of Dove Dale. A new fishing lake is scheduled to open during 2011 on site, and a wide range of other activities from pony trekking to sailing and rock-climbing are available in the vicinity.

Popular local attractions include Alton Towers, Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Gulliver’s Kingdom, Heights of Abraham, Carsington Reservoir, Go-Ape!, National Tram Museum, Arkwright’s Mill etc etc.......There are also the local well-dressings, arts and festivals at nearby Bakewell, Ashbourne & Buxton and the villages of Tissington, Hartington & Parwich – plenty to do even in bad weather.
