Peak District Companion Stones

Companion Stones are a set of 12 matching stones that have been designed by local poets, artisits, masons and sculptors. Each of these wonderful stone creations bares and inscription which points to the future. To bring to our attention to the surrounding countyside and an indication of the tricky environmental terrain we have yet to navigate.

These Companion stones were a partnership between Peak District National Park Authority and Arts in the Peak District. This interaction between the skills of artists, poets and craftsmen bring a mediation between past, present and future priorities.

The 12 companion stones are placed over the Peak District and there are 4 walks to accompany this set of stones.
