Description:

Mill Farm Holiday Cottages.
Dog friendly self catering cottages in the Derbyshire village of Barlow, on the edge of the Peak District national park and close to the South Yorkshire border.

A farm stay provides a relaxing alternative to the expensive hotels in Sheffield and Chesterfield and the surrounding Peak District towns and villages, Mill Farm provides a superb base for both holiday breaks, fishing holidays and business visits.

The site, on the B6051, is in 50 acres of conservation pastures, lakes and woodland teeming with fish, birds and wildlife. The village lies four miles from Chesterfield and around ten miles from the centre of Sheffield. Minimum stay in the cottages is three nights.

All five cottages at Mill Farm are fully equipped to a very high standard with all the usual necessities such as bed linen, colour televisions, cutlery etc. Cots, folding beds and high chairs are available on request. ( Sorry, towels and cot linen are not provided).  The farm cottages are heated by gas.

For a complete guide to prices please go to the tariff page, phone 0114 289 0543 or e-mail: cottages@barfish.fsnet.co.uk . Enquiries can also be made by fax on 0114 289 1473.

Camping, caravans and tents.
Camp site visitors in caravans or tents may stay for a single night, particularly attractive to anglers intending to fish the nearby lakes. For more about the campsite visit the camping in Derbyshire website.

Pet friendly  - Family friendly.
Children and dogs are certain to enjoy their stay on the farm. Dog friendly woodland walks can be found all around the farm holiday cottages and a visit to the snack bar usually goes down well.

Fishing lakes
A short walk from the farm cottages, the complex includes one of the largest fisheries in the north of England offering anglers a choice of fly fishing or coarse angling in separate lakes. For the duration of their stay, cottage holiday makers can enjoy free fishing in any of the eight lakes in the valley.

Self catering or snack bar.
The cottages are self-catering but for those who prefer to eat out, the snack bar serves reasonably priced meals and snacks throughout the day during spring and summer. Shorter hours apply in winter. Most of the food is locally produced and home cooked.
