Retreat back to Gingerbread Cottage at the end of your day to sit in the sunny courtyard garden in summer, or in front of the gas fired iron stove in winter. Whatever time of year you visit, Gingerbread Cottage is sure to offer a relaxing and pleasurable stay.
A charming sitting room provides comfortable seating for 4 people in front of the gritstone fireplace with gas burning stove. A television, video recorder and stereo are provided, together with many books and games. A good-sized, beamed kitchen/dining room leads off from the sitting room.
This is a well-equipped, welcoming kitchen with a large table and seating for 4 people. The kitchen includes an oven with 4 ring gas hob, integrated washer/dryer, fridge and microwave. A wood-framed glass door leads up stone steps to the sunny courtyard garden.
A further panelled door leads to a beautifully fitted bathroom with a panelled bath with shower over, hand basin and low level w.c.
Leading off the other end of the kitchen is the staircase to the bedrooms. The lovely front facing bedroom has views over the Church and down over Bakewell. The bedroom is furnished with a double bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers. The white painted floorboards and pink fabrics give the room a fresh and sunny atmosphere.
The rear bedroom has lovely views over the courtyard garden, across Bakewell and to the hills beyond. The bedroom is furnished with a 5ft King-sized bed (which upon request can be made up as 2 2ft 6in twin beds), and a pine wardrobe. The white painted floorboards and lilac fabrics give the room a calm, peaceful atmosphere.
The sunny courtyard garden gives lovely views over the Bakewell rooftops and to the hills beyond. A sheltered sun-trap, the garden is equipped with garden furniture and a BBQ is kept in the brick shed.
Local Attractions Gingerbread Cottage is the ideal base for exploring unspoilt Derbyshire. Spectacular scenery, picturesque villages, historic houses and numerous walking, cycling and climbing opportunities have given the region the reputation it justly deserves.
