Homestead Cottage is a quality, very comfortable traditional 4 star self catering holiday let for 6 people. An annexe to the main farm house, but just as big, it comes fully equipped with LCD TV, CD/Radio and Internet availability. Located on Ravenscliffe Farm, Fenny Bentley, in the South of the Peak National Park, Derbyshire. Upon arrival, drive into the yard. Park outside of the front door. Homestead Cottage extends from the cream rendered exterior down to the end finished in stone, where there is a short walkway round to another parking area and enclosed patio.
The Barn has been lovingly restored in June 2010 and is a 4 star detached cottage all on one level for 2 people and is full of character and also comes fully equipped with LCD TV CD/Radio and Internet availability, along with ceiling fans in the lounge and bedroom. Electrically operated curtains in the bedroom due to ceiling height. It has solid oak flooring in the lounge and carpeted bedroom with non slip tiles in the kitchen and bathroom. Parking: Drive into the yard. Parking is immediately in front of you. Garden and lockable bike store to the rear. Patio.
Stabling and Horsebox/trailer parking available upon request. Miles and miles of connecting bridle paths just 10 minutes drive from the farm. Tissington Trail. High Peak Trail. joining up with the Penine Bridleway. We have fields to ride around on the farm.
Alton Towers is approximately 25 - 30 minutes drive.
We are Just 1 mile from the Bentley Brook Inn, which hosts wedding ceremonies and other events. The delightful market town of Ashbourne, 2.5 miles away offers a variety of shopping, fine dining and recreational facilities.
Perfectly situated for good home cooked food at the local pubs. Carsington Water Reservoir for sailing, cycling, walking and Visitor Centre with activities and shops are only a 10 - 15 minute drive away. There is also a cafe.
Activities within 3 miles radius include: Walks from the door, Tissington and Tissington Trekking Centre for horse riding. Cycle Hire from Ashbourne at the start of the Tissington Trail , Hot Air Ballooning from Tissington. Swimming and Squash etc at the Leisure Centre in Ashbourne . Carsington Water Reservoir for sailing, cycling, walking. It has a very nice visitor centre with activities and shops. There many different species of birds. Hides are set around the reservoir.
We have a conservation area on the farm, which has been set aside for the wildlife. Badger sets are a part of our landscape. Each set is close to the stream which the badgers attend. Cattle and sheep roam the fields. Various wild animals live around the farm such as rabbits, brown hares, stoats, weazles and foxes and so on.
There are 3 footpaths crossing the farm. If you enjoy walking, then you will not need your car to visit two or three local pubs. Please note that the footpaths cross fields and hence would not be suitable for pushchairs.
Cities and towns that are within easy reach include: Nottingham, Derby, Manchester, Birmingham, Sheffield and Stoke-On-Trent etc.Mainline railway connections available close by are: Matlock and Derby, with Manchester, Birmingham and East Midlands Airports all within approx 1hrs travel time.

Built in the 1600s Ravenscliffe farm, Fenny Bentley, Ashbourne is situated in peaceful rural surroundings. Upon your arrival, you will find a complimentary food pack waiting for you. Should you wish to purchase food before you arrive, Sainsburys, Marks and Spencers, Waitrose and The Co-op are all in Ashbourne.
