Peak District Cottages - Rose Cottage - Monyash

Located in the heart of the National Park, Monyash is well placed for visiting many of the attractions of the Peak District.

Monyash itself is a small village with a population of 250 and is mainly a farming community.  There is a large village green with an ancient cross and a very attractive mere with its family of ducks.   This is the only survivor of five meres which once supplied water to the village.  We have a lively pub which serves good food and also a cafe.  The church of St Leonard’s dominates the centre of the village.   A programme of refurbishment has recently been completed and we are very proud of our lovely church and grounds.

Rose cottage is a traditional terraced cottage built with local limestone.

Although the accommodation is compact, it is very clean, warm and furnished to a high standard.

As you enter the cottage, the entrance lobby leads into a cosy sitting room which is furnished with a settee and two armchairs, occasional table and television.  This room has brasses and prints of our local villages.  Off the sitting room is the very small but well equipped kitchenette which has a full size cooker, fridge and microwave.  Also on the ground floor is the bathroom with bath, shower over and hand basin.
 

The stairs lead to two bedrooms.  The good size front bedroom has comfortable twin beds and overlooks the fields opposite.  There is plenty of wardrobe and cupboard space.  The small back bedroom has a single 2’6” brass bed suitable for a child or adult and this bedroom overlooks the well-tendered cottage garden and fields beyond.  Both bedrooms are prettily furnished with co-ordinating bed linen and towels.  The toilet with hand basin is on this floor.

To the rear of the property is a patio area with garden furniture.
This is a pleasant area adjoining the owner’s garden.
