The popular Bull's Head pub is only 150 yards away on the village green, and next door is The Old Smithy café, both of which serve meals seven days a week. There are also seven other country pubs within four miles of the cottage, all with open fires, serving home-cooked food.

There are plenty of interesting things to do and see in the area.

The magnificent stately homes of Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are a fifteen minute drive away. The UK's only Tramway Museum at Crich, the Heights of Abraham with cable car rides and Gulliver's Kingdom, the Mining Museum can also easily be reached. Jodrell Bank, the UK's premier observatory, is less than an hour away and North Derbyshire has many wonderful caves to visit and wonder at. The magnificent countryside costs nothing to enjoy and will enthrall you.
