The Old Estate Rooms were originally used by the Harpur Crewe family (former owners of Calke Abbey, now a National Trust property) to manage the manorial estate of Alstonefield and its surrounding villages. The rooms have been converted to provide simple, elegant accommodation, quietly situated in one of the Peak District's most picturesque villages. Old sandstone steps provide private access to the Old Estate Rooms and a walled seating area. The front door opens to a tiled hall that leads into a spacious lounge/dining room. This features a large Georgian window bay (complete with wooden shutters), high ceilings, chandelier, painted wooden floors and fireplace. The double aspect windows look into the walled gardens and across the rolling hills.

The modern mini kitchen is equipped with a double hob and extractor, sink, fridge and microwave/oven. Off the hall is a large, light double bedroom with original Georgian windows, shutters, chandelier and high ceilings. Also off the hall is a contemporary shower room with a walk in shower, bowl basin, toilet and heated towel rail.

All the rooms have under-floor heating and the interiors are decorated in soft neutral tones throughout. All linens and towels are provided, a cot and high chair are also available. Ample parking is available in the stable yard.

Guests can request to have a full English breakfast (£8 pp.) in the main house by prior arrangement. Group or corporate bookings (up to 6 adults) can use the Old Estate Rooms in conjunction with the main house.
