Description: Toms Barn & Douglas Barn...
We have two charming Five Star barn conversions, Tom’s Barn and Douglas’s Barn. Very different and very characterful, they make a stunning romantic retreat for couples who want to get away from it all somewhere quiet, peaceful and beautiful but at the same time undoubtedly luxurious.
Idyllically situated on the edge of the picturesque Peak District village of Parwich they face the sun down a sheltered valley. There are wonderful walks right from the doorstep over the hills and along the numerous dales, yet it is only a few minutes stroll into the heart of the village with its excellent shop, pub, church, tennis courts and bus stop. Dovedale, Tissington and Carsington Water are all nearby, and Chatsworth, Haddon, Bakewell, Ashbourne and Buxton less than half an hour by car.
Tom’s Barn is a dog-friendly cottage (dogs love the log burner!) We keep Douglas’s Barn pet-free, which allergy-sufferers appreciate. Neither of our luxury holiday cottages is suitable for children. Both are equipped with everything we ourselves would want to find – after all, your stay with us should be a treat in every way. You do not need to bring the entire contents of your kitchen or bathroom, as we supply all the basic kitchen/store cupboard necessities.
We offer short breaks from the beginning of October to the end of March; during the rest of the year we only take advance bookings for weeks or longer. Both our holiday cottages are very popular and tend to get booked up well in advance.

• “Overall a wonderful cottage in a lovely location.” • "We had a fantastic time and were impressed by the quality of every aspect of the accommodation.” • “It felt so homely – all the comforts of home but with amazing walks right from the doorstep.” • “Total peace and relaxation.” • “Owners are very friendly but not intrusive.” • “ Such lovely touches such as the homemade cake, tea, milk, eggs, bread and butter on arrival. Even down to the dressing gowns in the bedroom – it was all so very well thought out.” • “The little extras provided … made a real difference. It was like staying in a good quality hotel, but with self-catering facilities!” • “Friendliness of the owners and cleanliness” (presumably of the barns…!).
Parwich is a typical small village in the Peak National Park. It nestles in a hollow, well away from main roads and consists of limestone built farms and an attractive medley of limestone cottages. There is a church, a pub, a village shop, a cricket ground, tennis courts and a bowling green. Parwich lies within a wonderful walking area and is close to many beauty spots and visitor attractions.
• Each barn sleeps 2 people, or one. • Prices £455-£595 weekly.
Tom's Barn welcomes well behaved dogs (£25 each extra).
