Weatherick & Bradstone Cottages - Wirksworth
5 STAR & GOLD AWARD
Two charming cottages with spectacular views overlooking Carsington Water on the edge of the Peak District National Park.
These two stone barns called Bradstone and Weathericks are full of character and have been tastefully converted to a very high standard of holiday accommodation on the edge of the Derbyshire Peak District National Park from where some outstanding views can be enjoyed across the rolling countryside down towards Carsington Water.
There are excellent walks, cycle paths and horse riding right on the door-step with the High Peak Trail being nearby. A short walk will take you into the market town of Wirksworth. We are happy to show visitors around the working farm.
The entrance to the barn is through a stable door which leads into a very spacious and welcoming kitchen / dining room with the full beamed ceiling giving the room plenty of character.
The cottage barn kitchen is further enhanced by the superb range of hand made wooden kitchen units, with all the equipment you will need to make your stay comfortable.
The large beamed sitting room is very tastefully decorated featuring a gritstone fireplace with inset gas coal effect log burning stove.
Patio doors which take in the stunning view down towards Carsington Water lead to a patio and the shared lawn areas.
From the kitchen wooden stairs lead to the landing and a large double bedroom with a king sized bed, stained floors and occasional rugs adding to the charm. Off the main bedroom is an adjoining smaller bedroom which makes an ideal childrens room.
The main bathroom has a bath and an electric shower, hand basin and toilet.
The main feature of the Bradstone barn is the very spacious character accommodation.
A stable door leads into the welcoming kitchen/dining room with a superb range of hand made pine kitchen units, beamed ceiling, and ceramic tiled floor. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the essentials you will need for added comfort.
A single step leads into a large comfortable beamed sitting room, with a tiled floor, occasional rugs and an imposing stone fireplace with gas coal effect log burning stove. Patio doors lead out to a small patio with garden furniture.
The original stone stairs (be careful as you go up and down) lead to the spacious landing off which are the main bedrooms.
The main bedroom is very spacious with a king size bed and lounge seating (which can be used as an occasional bed) off which is the en-suite bathroom with shower cubicle, hand basin and toilet.
