Peacefully situated in the hamlet of Swinscoe in the heart of the Peak District stands the splendid 17th century inn, the Dog and Partridge. Here Mary and Martin Stelfox invite you to enjoy good food, comfortable surroundings and warm hospitality.
Guests will find it easy to relax in the traditional bar with its olde worlde character and charm, and its welcoming log fires in winter. Food is served all day as requested. The wide ranging menu features local specialities of Staffordshire oatcakes with a variety of savoury fillings, chefs special pies and local trout as well as a good range of traditional dishes, steaks and grills.
 
A la carte meals are served from 5:30pm till late in the spacious restaurant, providing still greater choice with imaginative cuisine supplemented by an extensive wine list.
To ensure that children enjoy their stay here as much as their parents, there are both outdoor and indoor play areas, extensive lawns and gardens, baby listening facilities in all rooms, highchairs and cots.
All pets welcome too!
The surrounding countryside is truly a walkers' and sightseers' paradise. High open moorland gives way to peaceful, picturesque Dales with gently flowing rivers and breath taking sweeps of limestone cliffs. Visit cave systems and mines, wildlife parks and bird sanctuaries, stately homes and gardens. There are numerous industrial heritage museums, steam railways and towns each with its own character. And of course, the ever popular Alton Towers is just a short drive away.
Accommodation at The Dog and Partridge is purpose-built and situated in the grounds. All rooms have en-suite facilities and are equipped with colour television, tea/coffee making facilities, clock radio, direct dial telephone, ample heating and hot water. If you prefer self contained accommodation, then our recently built Derbyshire cottages provide the perfect answer.

Hot Tub & Private Garden
Here at The Dog and Partridge Country Inn, we have our own hot tub in its own private garden available for Private Use.
The hot tub is available to hire for 2 hours at a time for up to 6 people and includes a towel for each person and use of the private garden.
Only £25.00 for 2 Adults and £5.00 per every extra person per session.
*We reserve the right to cancel bookings without notice due to technical faults. It is advisable to book with 48 hours notice to avoid disappointment however sometimes last minute slots do become available so feel free to check!
Gift Shop
Our gift shop, located at reception, specialises in Teddy Bears and stocks various different types including Steiff and Limited Edition Russ Bears. If you want a Special Bear and we stock it, we are also happy to mail order to your address.

Conference Facilities
Here at The Dog & Partridge we specialise in conferences and meeting facilities.
We are also the ideal location to cater for Training / Team Building Courses. The Dog & Partridge is situated in its own grounds with good access to the Peak District.
We specialise in good facilities, food and above all high quality service as when running conferences etc., punctuality is a must, although we can be flexible if required which is essential to timetables being kept to.
Room Facilities
We are able to offer conference rooms and syndicate rooms.
The conference room is able to set up in Theatre or Boardroom style. This room also has an adjoining small room ideal for serving light refreshments.
We can also provide various equipment in the main room, including the following:

• Good quality conference furniture
We have various combinations of rooms available for meetings depending on your requirements. All rooms have natural daylight and include the provision of cordials, iced water and boiled sweets.
Our main room can also be used for private dining and is ideal for small parties. All food is of the highest quality, being freshly prepared daily. We can provide menu ideas for gala dinners to a light snack, depending on the occasion and time of day.
