Peak District Photography - Robert Falconer - The Peak District

Robert first picked up an SLR camera when he was 12 years old. An interest in photography developed from his father taking him to see steam trains. Before long Robert built up a passion for photography and soon turned his camera towards photographing landscapes.

The Peak District is just 2 miles from where Robert lives and has become a popular area for landscape pictures. Robert has also ventured further afield to places including the Yorkshire Dales, Scotland, USA and Everest in Nepal. Robert still has a passion for photographing steam trains and as well as photographing them in UK he has also photographed them in USA, Cuba, South Africa and China.

In 1986, while still at school, Robert joined Bolsover Camera Club, which was a great inspiration to his early work, having his first image accepted in the anual North East Midland Photographic Federation Exhibition in 1989.

After leaving school Robert's dream was to become a professional Photographer so he went on to study photography for 4 years, gaining a Nationa Diploma in Sheffield and a Higher National Diploma in Blackpool.
There have been many high points over the years from working for Colin Garratt, a renowned railway photographer, for a short period to recently launching his fist book called "The Peak District - A Winters Tale".

Robert has won a number of competitions over the years including a £1000 prize and a hot-air-balloon ride.

Robert's work is for sale in many different ways, from greeting cards, Christmas cards to prints and framed pictures.

There are also many lectures available of a variety of subjects.

Robert now has thousands of images in his photographic collection.
