The Devonshire Arms at Beeley on the Chatsworth Estate underwent a completion transformation in 2006.  Already a popular watering hole and dining destination for local residents as well as the many visitors to Chatsworth, The Devonshire Arms offers all the charm and atmosphere of an historic coaching inn yet with a modern twist.

The Duchess of Devonshire’s influence is evident with her love of strong colours and rich fabrics, particularly in the dynamic brasserie and the sumptuous bedrooms, whilst the original inn has retained all its charm and character with low oak beams, open fireplaces, nooks and crannies. 

Food is of the essence – Chef Patron Alan Hill is passionate about food and sources the very best of local and regional produce from the Chatsworth Estate and nearby farms. This isn’t just a new fad to react to the latest fashion, Alan has always cooked in tandem with the seasons having forged relationships with local suppliers to ensure he receives the best fresh produce. His menu combines British classics with a la carte specials that offer accessible fine dining – always seasonal and freshly prepared.  Wines range from easy drinking to serious labels with some real gems to discover and enjoy. Cask ales include local brews from Peak Ales including our very own Chatsworth Gold, normally Theakston’s Old Peculier, and a guest beer, offering something to satisfy the most discerning beer drinkers.

There are eight delightful rooms – four in the inn and four in Brookside, across a pretty garden to the side of the inn.  Each bedroom is individually furnished and named after a local dale whilst all the rooms share the same high standards of comfort and facilities.

On the doorstep is some of England’s loveliest scenery with wonderful walks and places to see both on the Chatsworth Estate and within the Derbyshire Peak District National Park.  Chatsworth is well known as one of Britain’s best-loved historic houses and estates and there’s always something new to discover however many times it is visited.
