The Scotsmans Pack
Prior to the 18th Century there were few roads in Derbyshire. The Scotsmans Pack stands on one of the old tracks leading to Sheffield and the Sheffield Manor Castle. It was a regular calling place for food and shelter for the 'Packman' or 'Travelling Drapers' who visited every farm and village in the area offering there goods and carrying news-packmen from Scotland sold there tweeds here to the local farmers.

At the rear of the Inn there was one piece of common land where gypsies, squatters and sheep thieves settled. Later, when still in its original condition, the Pub was frequented by farmers, shepherds and the local quarrymen. Traces of the original building can be found, the present Scotsmans Pack dates from 1900. The Inn today is found on the edge of the picturesque village of Hathersage steeped in the legend of 'Little John' one of Robin Hoods merry men, you can even sit in Little Johns chair! Combining tradition with modern comforts the Scotsmans Pack Inn offers visitors five delightful en-suite rooms with excellent cuisine and charming hospitality.

• Feta cheese, Parma ham and plum salad.
• Braised Lamb shank
• Pan fried lambs liver and bacon.
• Grilled fillet of salmon.
• Cauliflower and almond bake.
• Warm salad of mushroom, sun dried tomato and smoked panchetta.

Plus sandwiches, paninis and extensive special board.
