Description: Welcome to Butterton Moor House. Our beautiful 16th century home, originally built as a gentleman’s house and working farm, is set within the Peak District National Park and on the edge of the Derbyshire Dales.
The stone property now offers luxury self-catering holiday accommodation in Butterton Moor Cottage and Butterton Moor Loft . The excellent leisure facilities include a beautiful indoor heated swimming pool, billiards room and childrens' play area.
The fabulous facilities and stunning scenery provide the perfect holiday setting for walking, cycling, visiting historic houses – Chatsworth is close by - or just meandering around the picture postcard villages and enjoying excellent local pubs and restaurants. Riding is available in the area where you can explore the many miles of bridle paths close by.
Families with children of all ages will find a host of activities and places to visit within the Peak District, and the famous Alton Towers Theme Park is just down the road!
Butterton Moor Cottage Butterton Moor Cottage has been beautifully converted from a former hay barn to provide accommodation for 4 guests.
The pretty, country style kitchen is very well equipped and includes an electric oven and hob, fridge, washing machine, dryer, microwave, toaster, iron and ironing board.
Upstairs is the comfortable living room with a CD player, Freeview television, DVD player and a selection of DVDs. There is always a supply of magazines and books for you to relax with.
There are 2 bedrooms - a large double bedroom, with a spacious en-suite shower room, and a twin bedded room with adult sized bunk beds. An additional bed or cot could be used in the double room. There is also a second spacious shower room.
Outside, the Cottage has a private garden with lovely far reaching views and a terraced area with patio furniture and a barbeque.
Butterton Moor Loft Butterton Moor Loft is the larger of the two self-catering properties and is attached to the main house. Once upon a time it housed milking parlours and hay lofts, but is now extremely spacious accommodation, sleeping 5 adults comfortably.
The attractive country style kitchen is really well equipped with electric oven and hob, fridge, freezer, washing machine, dryer, microwave, toaster, iron and ironing board.
The very large living room, with 2 large sofas, has a CD player, Freeview television, a DVD player and a selection of DVDs. There are always magazines and books for you to read too.
There is a very spacious double bedroom with ample room for an additional bed or cot, a twin bedded room with en-suite bathroom and an extra single bed in a private sleeping area on a large landing. The large family bathroom has a bath and separate shower.
Outside, the Loft has a large private garden overlooking the stunning countryside, with a patio area, barbeque and patio furniture if you'd like your own special, cosy place in the country where there is all the space in the world to walk, cycle, climb or just to explore the lovely Peak District and Derbyshire Dale villages, then stay with us at self-catering properties, Butterton Moor Cottage or Butterton Moor Loft.
We have a small number of cycles to hire, please ask for more information. If you'd like to bring your own we have secure storage available on request.
After all that you can swim in our beautifully warm indoor pool have a game of billiards or snooker. Children will love the specially designed outdoor play area.
The swimming pool is open throughout the year and you can swim at any time from 8am until 9pm. The billiard room and the children's play area are all available from 8am until 9pm.
At Butterton Moor House we have 2 holiday properties - Butterton Moor Loft, sleeping 5, which is joined to the main house, and the detached Butterton Moor Cottage which sleeps 4 people.
Both properties can accommodate additional put up beds to sleep extra guests. With 1 additional bed in the Cottage and 2 in the Loft we can comfortably accommodate 12 guests.
The kitchen in the Loft is large enough to seat 9 guests around the table, allowing larger groups who have booked both properties to eat together.
