Description: Cliffside House – Self catering. (Bed and breakfast available on request). The accommodation is four star rated by the English Tourist Board. Two apartments that both sleep 4. LOCATION. Mileage to and from: Whatstandwell – 1.5 miles/Ambergate – 3.8 miles/Cromford – 4.8 miles/Matlock Bath – 5.4 miles. The apartments are minutes walk from Crich Tramway Village . FACILITIES AVAILABLE. Both apartments are fully contained, set apart from the main house, with their own entrance and off-road car parking. There is a large amount of space arranged for a fully fitted kitchen and utility, dining, lounge, bedroom areas. In a separate room there is a bathroom with shower, toilet and basin.
There is full central heating, TV, Video and DVD players (media not supplied), Radio, and a connection to the internet are provided - There is good mobile phone coverage, a selection of books and board games in both apartments.
The Studio apartment, which is located upstairs, has a comfortable king size double bed and the sofa also converts to a small double bed. Patio doors lead out to a balcony where there are beautiful views from the windows, south west over the Derwent Valley towards Black Rocks, and on occasion a spectacular sunset is seen.
The apartment downstairs is the same as The Studio but has two twin beds and a sofabed. Both apartments are serviced daily between 11:00 and 14:00. LOCATION This apartment Studio is minutes walk from Crich Tramway Village There really are beautiful views of the Derbyshire and Peak District Countryside. Cliffside House is set in about one acre that includes a woodland area that has a variety of wildlife and plants and some limestone fossils. Crich Stand on the cliff top above is a short walk away. The Stand is the memorial to the Sherwood Foresters Regiment, now merged with the Mercian Regiment: From the top panoramic views can be seen. ATTRACTIONS Things to do Amongst the many good reasons to visit Derbyshire are: The Tramway Village ( very short walk) The stately homes of Chatsworth, Haddon Hall, Hardwick Hall, The Peak District countryside for walking, cycling or climbing, The historic buildings of the Industrial Revolution, The Spa town of Matlock Bath with the The attractions of the Heights of Abraham and Gulliver's Kingdom. Matlock, Bakewell Wirksworth, Alfreton and Belper are nearby for Banks, Café's, Restaurants, and general shopping and further afield the Cities of Derby, Nottingham and Sheffield are easily reached. Eating out Pub food can be found an easy walk away at the Cliff Inn or the tea rooms a little further on. In the village of Crich half a mile away there is fish and chip shop, a small supermarket, chemist, post office, bakery with tea room. In the surrounding villages many of the pubs will serve real ale and food. Further afield a selection of good quality restaurants will probably require advance booking.
