At Edge of the World we believe in matching your needs with the right product.  Our staff are not paid on commission and we do not 'oversell' you something you don't really need to pay for.  If an £80 jacket will do what you need it to, we won't sell you a £200 one.  On the other hand we will tell you if we feel it would be wise to invest a bit more for a more demanding task.

Our stores are staffed by people who love the countryside.  We provide no-nonsense, practical advice which will equip you to make an informed choice as to what to buy.  There are no mysteries to outdoor kit but there is a lot of confusing information and mis-information out there which we will cut through for you if you are uncertain about anything.

Good advice leads to good products.  Our ranges cover most budgets but we believe all offer good value for money.  We stock products from the leading manufacturers.

Our stores are conveniently situated in the centre of Ambleside, Bowness-on-Windermere, Grasmere and Bakewell.  We are open seven days a week, 364 days a year, 9.30am-5.30pm Mon-Sat, 10.00am-5.00pm Sun.  We are often open longer hours in the busier months but if you are making a special journey please ring beforehand to be certain.
