Peak Village hosts free Antiques valuation Day

Following the success of previous free Antiques Valuation Days, Peak Village is giving shoppers another opportunity to meet TV antiques expert James Lewis as it hosts another free event.

The Valentine’s week Valuation Day will take place on Thursday, February 16, with two opportunities to meet James. The morning session runs between 10.30am and 12.30pm and the afternoon valuations will take place between 1.30pm and 3.30pm when James Lewis will be on hand to do individual valuations for customers eagerly awaiting expert knowledge about their beloved family heirlooms.

Mr. Lewis conducted over 200 valuations at the last event and was happy to be invited back to the venue once again, providing customers with the opportunity to find out whether items such as antique jewellery, coins, ceramics, paintings and many more precious objects are really as valuable as they had hoped!

James Lewis is a popular TV Auctioneer and director of Derbyshire’s leading auctioneers’ house, Bamford’s. Mr Lewis is best known for his appearances on the hit BBC TV shows Flog it! and Cash in the Attic, and brings with him a wealth of knowledge of the antiques industry. Mr Lewis spends much of his time traveling around Ireland, the Lake District, Yorkshire, Derbyshire and Lincolnshire, pursuing his life-long loves of antiques’ valuations, fairs and auctions.

The valuation day is a free event, but donations to the Born Free Foundation, of which Mr Lewis is a patron, would be welcome. Peak Village is encouraging its visitors to delve into the darkest depths of their attic for those family heirlooms.

“We are delighted that James Lewis is joining us again,” said Terrence Morgan of Peak Village. “We have arranged the event for half term to give as many people as possible the opportunity to attend the event so this is their opportunity to dig out their old treasures and ask James for his opinion. It’s Valentine’s week too, so we are confident the Valuations will be as popular as in the past and provide people with the opportunity to fall in love with shopping and antiques alike.”

Peak Village is home to nearly 20 retailers including national names like Exsports, Cotton Traders, Leading Labels, Ponden Mill, Pavers and Mountain Warehouse. The outlet shopping centre attracts 750,000 visitors a year and offers visitors the opportunity to combine shopping with other local attractions.
