Having at its heart two of the country’s most famous stately homes, Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall, Derbyshire has a historic heritage that puts it firmly on the map for those interested in how landed estates shaped the lifestyle of so many people in the past.  Still very much at the heart of the tourist industry in Derbyshire, these country houses employ large numbers of people and are still very much a part of what makes Derbyshire so unique.

Although a predominantly rural and farming community, Derbyshire also has its fair share of bright lights with the market town of Chesterfield and the City of Derby providing plenty of activities as well as pubs, clubs and restaurants.
