To be accepted into our 4 & 5 Star Self-Catering section, properties have to be extra special in some way.

It could be a unique and unrivalled location, a quaint and quirky character, an award winning conversion or exceptionally high standard of accommodation that entitles a property to be listed in our 4 & 5 Star Self-Catering list below. These are far from average or conventional holiday homes, but properties with a unique feature, an idyllic setting or an interior that would not look out of place in some top glossy magazine.

Self-catering does not necessarily mean a budget holiday where you do all the work yourself. Staying in 4 & 5 Star Self-Catering means living it up a bit, playing at house in a miniature palace or trying out the bedrooms that are nothing like the ones you have at home!
