Hulmes Vale House – sleeps 16/17
Hulmes Vale House is adjacent to The Holmes Barn, which are both family run large holiday cottages surrounded by approx 10 acres of their own grounds. Hulmes Vale House has the highest standard and specification to assure the maximum comfort and luxury for guests throughout their stay.The accommodation, which can easily sleep 16/17 people, is part of a traditional Derbyshire Stone Long House. The accommodation briefly comprises porch, entrance hall, lounge, downstairs cloakroom, utility room, large farmhouse kitchen and traditional dining room. Upstairs there are 4 large bedrooms, one en-suite shower room and family bathroom.
Your stay with us includes freshly laundered bedding and duvets.
The house is centrally heated throughout has constant hot water and is fully controllable by the guests. There is also free wireless internet access (with your own laptop).In the kitchen is a large farmhouse table. The kitchen is fully equipped with crockery and cutlery and there is an oil fuelled Aga as well as a large, American style fridge/freezer with ice making facilities. There is also a combi microwave oven and dishwasher (there will be a small amount of powder available for the start of your holiday).
In the utility area there is a washing machine and drying area, iron and ironing board.
The separate dining room has an inglenook fireplace and a table that will easily seat 12/14 people.In the lounge is a widescreen TV (free Sky TV with Sky Movies but not Sky Sports) with surround sound, a DVD/video player (small selection available) and a Hi-Fi. A log burning effect electric fire and large range of easy seating, including a double bed settee, finish off the feeling of comfort and luxury.
Leading from the hallway, the stairs climb to the first floor landing.
Off the landing is a family sized bathroom featuring a large separate shower and bath, fully tiled with a heated towel rail.Bedroom one has two single beds (these can be joined to make a kingsize double) and one pull out bed. This room also features an en-suite shower room.
Bedroom two has one set of adult bunk beds and one single bed.
Bedroom three has one set of adult bunk beds and one single bed.
Bedroom four has two single beds and an Adult sized bunk bed.
All the bedrooms have wardrobes, chest of drawers and bedside cabinets.
Cots and highchairs are available on request.
Hulmes Vale House can be hired with The Holmes Barn to give sleeping for up to 30. If you hire both cottages we can arrange for the table in The Holmes Barn to extend to seat 20-25 guests. Please ask at time of booking.
The Holmes Barn – sleeps 16/17
The Holmes Barn self catering accommodation can easily sleep 16/17 guests in our completely refurbished barn.Your stay with us includes all bedding which is freshly laundered and duvets. The barn is centrally heated throughout with controllable constant central heating and piping hot water.
The kitchen is fully equipped with crockery and cutlery. There is a free standing all electric range style cooker, fridge, freezer, microwave oven and dishwasher a little powder will be available on arrival. There is a separate drying room with washing machine, and extra fridge/freezer space.
In the dining area there is a large rustic farmhouse table which when extend can easily seat 20/30 people.
In the living area there is a colour TV with DVD/video (small selection of DVD’s available) also radio/CD player and free wireless internet access (with your own laptop).
In the snug area there are ground floor sleeping facilities if required incorporating a private area with futon bed, room for clothes storage and access to the downstairs cloakroom.Bedroom one comprises – 1 Guest bed (makes 2 single beds) & 1 adult bunk bed
Bedroom two comprises – 2 adult bunk beds.
Bedrooms one and two have shared access to the first bathroom, which is fully tiled and has quadrant shower, toilet, wash basin and heated towel rail.
Bedroom three comprises 1 adult bunk bed and 1 single bed.
Bedroom four comprises 2 single beds & 1 adult bunk bed
Bedrooms three and four have shared access to the second bathroom, which is fully tiled and has quadrant shower, toilet, wash basin and heated towel rail.
All bedrooms have wardrobes, chest of drawers and bedside cabinets.
Cots and highchairs are available on request.
The Holmes Barn can be hired with Hulmes Vale House to give sleeping for over 30 guests. If you hire both cottages we can arrange for the table to be extended in the Holmes Barn to seat 20-25 guests. Please ask at time of booking.There is ample car parking near the cottage. As you approach down the driveway turn left at the bottom onto the parking area for both cottages. Holmes Barn guests use the right hand side. As the parking is for both properties please park bearing in mind other guests. Storage is available for wet weather gear, boots. There is also on site storage large enough for bikes, climbing equipment, hang gliders etc..
While we are situated on open moorland we would appreciate it if guests in either cottage respect our other visitors and the owners – who live on site. We have a policy of no excessive noise outside after 11pm. If we have to investigate any complaints we retain the right to keep the damage/extra cleaning deposit in full.
There are many opportunities for eating out and buying provisions within a short car drive or to make your stay with us even easier order from Tesco and have it delivered straight to either the Barn or House for the day of your arrival. PLEASE NOTE – do not request a bagless delivery as the driver cannot get to the door of each cottage and so the goods have to be carried from the bottom of the drive. The bags will either be given back to the driver or recycled.
