Ilam Bunkhouse

Located in the grounds of Ilam Park, Ilam bunkhouse sleeps 16 over 3 rooms. There is a communal area for eating, cooking and relaxing and 3 shower / toilet rooms.

Ilam bunkhouse is located in an 19th century stable block which original formed part of the Ilam Hall Estate. The estate is now managed by the National Trust and the bunkhouse sits within the grounds of Ilam Park.

Ilam bunkhouse provides high quality group accommodation for up to 16 people. There are 3 bedrooms with bunk beds, with each bunk provided with a locker, night light and plug socket, there is also a hand basin in each room.

There is a sociable main living area comprising of a large dining table with benches, an open plan kitchen area and a large  fitted sofa in the sitting room area.

Their are 3 individual toilet and shower rooms and an additional toilet room.

Ilam bunkhouse is a fantastic base to explore the Peak District National Park, in particular the limestone hills and gorges, meandering rivers and beautiful woodland of the White Peak. There are lots of fantastic places for your group to explore nearby including Dovedale with it’s famous stepping stones and Ilam Park with it’s beautiful views, popular tea room and shop.

There are plenty of local picture perfect villages nearby to explore such as Tissington, Milldale, and Hartington. Bakewell, Buxton, Matlock Bath and Chatsworth are within a 45 minute drive. Local National Trust properties include, Sudbury Hall and the Museum of Childhood, Calke Abbey and Kedleston Hall.

The Churnet Valley Steam Railway and the world famous Alton Towers theme park are 8 miles from Ilam.

Catering
Catering is not provided however the Manifold tea room is open everyday from 10.30am-5.00pm (4.00 pm Nov-Feb) for drinks, delicious cakes and lunches.

Kitchen
The kitchen has a ceramic range oven, microwave, fridge freezer, dishwasher, spacious food preparation area, storage cupboards and double sink. A Washing machine is available on the ground floor.

Dining room
The dining room has a large English Ash table with benches to cater comfortably for 16 people.

Sitting room
The sitting room has a large fitted sofas and opens out onto the kitchen and dining areas.

Heating open fires
The first floor of the bunkhouse benefits from under floor heating powered by an air source heat pump.

Bedrooms
There are 3 separate bedrooms with bunk beds 2x sleeping 6, and 1x sleeping 4, each bed has a reading light, locker and plug sockets.

None provided. Mattresses have mattress protectors

Bathrooms
Toilet on the 1st floor. 3x individual shower and toilet rooms on the ground floor. There is a hand basin in each bedroom.

Disabled Facilities
We don’t have specific disabled facilities, with the exception of disabled parking. Ilam YHA (located next door) provide full disabled facilities.

Children’s Facilities
We don’t have specific children’s facilities however Ilam and the surrounding area are perfect for kids to explore and enjoy the outdoors.

Outdoor Facilities
The bunkhouse is ideally located for walkers and cyclists. There are a wide variety of cycle and walking routes for all abilities nearby.

None provided. Nearest public pool is Ashbourne Leisure Centre.

Parking for 4 vehicles in the nearby Ilam park car park is included in the price.
