Rose Cottage is a 200 year old quaint, cosy, semi-detached holiday cottage in the hamlet of Crowdecote, overlooking the Dove Valley in the heart of the picturesque Peak District National Park. Adjacent to a 16th century country inn which serves real ale, fine wines and quality homemade food, the cottage has been tastefully decorated in a contemporary style, whilst maintaining many original features. The cosy living room has an open fire, perfect for the winter months, and stunning views over the Dove Valley which can also be enjoyed from the small terrace at the front of the cottage in the fine weather. Crowdecote itself is a small village just 6 miles south of the ever popular tourist town of Buxton, famous for its stunning Opera House, Pavilion Gardens and diverse architecture. In addition, the sizeable village of Longnor with its cobbled market place, general store and selection of pubs and dining out options is reached just one mile down the road. Perfect for families, friends or couples, many beautiful walks can be enjoyed direct from the door, and with both the Tissington and High Peak trails close by, the options for walkers and cyclists alike are plentiful. The magnificent historic houses of Chatsworth Estate and Haddon Hall are easily reachable in 30 minutes, as are the famous caves of Blue John and Speedwell in the beautiful village of Castleton. In the summer months, Well Dressings can be seen in many surrounding villages such as the intriguing historic village of Eyam, Hartington, most famous for its Stilton, and Hayfield, as featured in BBC’s drama ‘The Village’.
