Self Catering Shepherd’s  Hut, Wincle, Peak District – Luxury Glamping –

Our hut nestles within its own stone circle in the charming village of Wincle in the Dane Valley.

It offers a unique “get away from it all” experience in total privacy, not being overlooked the hut provides a luxurious romantic haven.

Bordered by a bluebell wood with rookery there is an abundance of wildlife to see. The views from the hut are stunning. There is a summerhouse to enjoy a glass of wine and watch the sun go down and a BBQ/fire pit to sit round later on.

The Shepherds Crook sleeps two and has an en-suite bathroom with shower, a well-equipped kitchen and a large double bed.

Feel free to roam over our 38 acres of fields, woodland and river bank. The charming local pub is just 5 minutes away over our fields.

Wincle is convenient for Buxton, Macclesfield and Leek. It is just 35 minutes from Manchester airport. Chester, Liverpool, Manchester and the Potteries are all within reasonable driving distance.

From Wincle you can explore the whole of the Peak District National Park.

The Kitchen

The kitchen area is modern and attractive with built-in microwave/oven, hob and fridge.

Country Views

Shepherd’s Crook is hidden away in an idyllic spot with fantastic uninterrupted views of the Roaches and the Dane Valley. You can sit outside on the steps with a cup of tea and totally relax.

Summer House

The summer house is like another sitting room and a great place to sit and admire the views.

Fields Description

Mellor Knowl Farm is a sheep farm and is surrounded by 38 acres of land and woodland. There is also a stretch of the River Dane and a pool known locally as Otter’s Pool. There’s a couple of footpaths that cross our fields that you can pick up from Shepherd’s Crook and follow for some picturesque walks. Shepherd’s Crook guests are free to roam our land as long as you respect the livestock and wildlife.

It can be combined with Otter’s Retreat if you have a bigger party that needs to be together in the same location.
