Weatherick & Bradstone Cottages

Set on the edge of the Peak District, Bradstones and Weathericks are two beautifully presented, luxury self-catering cottages.

Overlooking the historic market town of Wirksworth, the cottages provide an excellent base for a holiday in the Peaks, famous for its stunning scenery.

Both cottages have been awarded 5 stars and gold awards by the English Tourist Board plus the Walkers Welcome and Cyclists Welcome awards so you can book with confidence, knowing that your walking and cycling needs will be met. For birdwatchers the cottages are ideal with regular visitors including woodpeckers, tits, finches and sometimes Jays. You can always spot the occasional buzzard or our local peacock – Mr Darcy.

The surrounding area is ideal for walking, cycling, climbing, wildlife or general site-seeing. Dovedale, Bakewell and Chatsworth House are all within the local area as well as Carsington Water Reservoir which is visible from the cottages. For the more adventurous, Alton Towers is a half hour drive away.

Weathericks (sleeps 4)

Enter Weathericks through the stable door into a very spacious and welcoming kitchen/dining room, with the full beamed ceiling and the old wooden staircase there is plenty of character and charm. There is a magnificent range of bespoke handmade old pine kitchen units and equipped with every luxury you need for your perfect stay.

From the kitchen is the lounge with further beams and feature sandstone fireplace with black inset log burning effect stove. The patio doors lead onto your own private seating area and the stunning views across Carsington Water. There is also access to the large lawn and field in front of the cottage.

At the top of the stairs the landing leads to the bathroom and bedrooms. The bathroom contains a bath with electric shower over, toilet and wash hand basin.

The main bedroom has an Indigo Super king bed, character beams and old pine furniture, leading from here is the second full sized bedroom with two single beds in a room full of character suitable for families or good friends.

Both cottages have a further private seating area for bbq or just chilling with a drink, book or camera.

Bradstones (sleeps 6)

Enter Bradstones through the stable door into the large kitchen and dining room with full-beamed ceiling and tiled floor. Fitted with a magnificent range of handmade wooden kitchen units with marble work tops and equipped with all the appliances you need for a great holiday. Eight people may dine around the table, making Bradstones and Weathericks an excellent choice for a large family or groups of friends.

Stepping into the lounge, you will find a full-beamed ceiling, feature stone walls, and an imposing stone fireplace with an inset gas coal effect log burning stove. Local information and free Wi-Fi can be found here plus a log book to record any visiting birds you might spot. A set of French doors leads onto a patio area complete with furniture.

From the lounge, the original stone stairs lead to the bright, traditionally decorated landing, off which are three bedrooms.

The master bedroom suite is very spacious with an Indigo Super king bed with Egyptian cotton bedding and luxury towels, comfortable seating area which can be used as an occasional bed for one adult or two children. En suite shower room with hand basin, toilet and complimentary toiletries.

The two remaining bedrooms each have two full sized single beds with Egyptian cotton bedding and luxury towels.

The family bathroom has a whirlpool bath with shower over, hand basin, toilet and complimentary toiletries

There is additional outside space for al-fresco dining and BBQ. Use of the surrounding grounds is recommended for short, countryside walks to the adjoining footpaths.
