Alsop-en-le-Dale

Alsop en le Dale is a tiny farming hamlet which nestles in the heart of The Peak District National Park. It sits alongside the main Ashbourne to Buxton road. it’s a very picturesque little hamlet set in the glorious countryside of the white peak.

A narrow lane winds down to this peaceful little backwater where you will find a lovely old church, a pretty Elizabethan hall and a cluster of character houses. They all blend together to form a very enchanting scene and appear in most tourists photograph collection. It’s hard to believe that this tiny rural community once had its own railway station half a mile away, but it is now the site of the car park on the main Tissington Trail.

it follows the route of the former Ashbourne to Buxton railway line and with the River Dove just a mile away, there are some fabulous walks in the area. The nearest village with facilities is Parwich.
