Biggin is a small village set high in the spectacular white peak landscape. It’s a very popular area with walkers. Midway between Ashbourne and Buxton, it is a typical white peak village running along a single street. For walkers and cyclists, the Tissington Trail is a short distance away and to the West the upper Dove Valley provides some of the finest walking in the country with dramatic limestone Dales sheltering the valley below.
Buildings of note are the church of St Thomas, the Waterloo Inn and Biggin Hall. Biggin Grange was once farmed by the Cistercian monks and the villages surrounded by agricultural land and farmsteads.
