Chapel en le Frith is known as the Capital of the Peaks lies just off the A6 road between Stockport and Buxton. It is known locally as the ‘chapel’ and the main road from Buxton to Manchester once passed through the Main Street, causing pollution and congestion. it derives its name from the church, which was erected here in 1225.
