Dog Walks In Matlock

/images/dogwalking.jpg

Wandering around Matlock town, can be daunting for any dog, because the traffic is quite busy, but there are some wild places that your dog would enjoy. Near to the Heritage sites at Cromford and Matlock, there are walks between 2 and 8 miles, with not many stiles and lots of woodland to run free in. Walking beside Cromford Canal is a wonderful walk and a great chance for the dogs to have a good walk although some areas, they will need to be on the lead, but there are many sheep around, but of course always check first.

The parks and gardens in Matlock allow dogs, but they need to be under close control, especially around where children are playing of course. The cliff tops are a great place to explore all the wilderness that is Matlock, and particularly around Riber castle, there is a footpath to enjoy which many dog walkers use regularly. Check out the welcome pack at your holiday cottage because no doubt the owners will have provided you with some pet friendly locations. It’s great to step out into the Peak District countryside and be accompanied by your best friend on four legs.
