Developing the tourist season in the Derbyshire Dales, High Peak, Staffordshire Moorlands and East Staffordshire

• A project to develop and promote local food products (and their supply chains) and tourism.
• Aims to boost business for local food suppliers and tourism by increasing the availability and consumption of local food products at tourist destinations and outlets throughout the region.
• Developing local business opportunities and tourism through cross
sectoral cluster activity, encouraging the collaboration of the local food and drink sector, tourist sector, and hotel and catering sector in raising the quality of the tourist offering.

FOOD & DRINK FESTIVAL

 
This year’s Food & Drink Festival was a great success…..there will be one again next year around the end of March 2012 .

The Festival was opened by Mr SAT BAINS the renowned award winning chef and restaurateur.
The first of our annual food and drinks showcase events.

A wide range of quality food and drinks to try and buy.

Produced in the Derbyshire Dales, High Peak, Staffordshire Moorlands and East Staffordshire.

They include cakes, biscuits, puddings, meat, cheese, ice-cream, chocolate, preserves, beer and wines.

In addition to the different food and drink stalls there will be entertainment to suit the whole family, including cookery demonstrations, food tastings, live radio outside broadcast, face-painting, egg hunt, biscuit decorating.
There will be a programme of interactive workshops and master classes throughout the day, including fruit and vegetable carving.

A number of B&Bs and guesthouses were also exhibiting.
