The Penny Pot café is located between Edale train station and the main Edale car park in the heart of the Vale of Edale, an incredibly popular location for cycling and walking. Over the last 12 months we have revamped our menu to include a delicious breakfast offer, home made soups and freshly made sandwiches and toasties.
We also stock locally made ice creams and have freshly made coffees, a variety of teas, and a chiller full of refreshing cold drinks. In the spring of 2012 we introduced a new outside seating area under the cooling shade of the trees, which provides a great location to relax enjoy your food and drink. We also have a covered area where you can keep out of the rain or sun.
We are a popular café stop for mountain bikers and road cyclists and have excellent tray bakes and other energy rich cakes and sandwiches to keep you going over the hills. We have bike racks and a gazebo in our patio area to keep your 2 wheeled pride and joy upright and dry and we don’t mind how muddy you are.
We have lots of information about the National Trust’s work in the Peak District area on display, plus news of local events and activities, including our regular Tales and Tunes nights at the Penny Pot. We also have a book swap library where you can choose a book and either leave one you’ve already read or make a small donation towards buying more books from a charity shop.
Come and see us soon, Pat and Susie will give you a warm welcome and the wood burning stove will do it’s best to defrost the coldest and wettest of customers.
