Heanor

Heanor is a town in civil parish in the Amber Valley district of Derbyshire 8 miles north-east of Derby. It was mentioned in the Domesday book and since 1984, this Peak District village has had three tiers of local government, parish who provide certain open spaces, halls and sports provisions, district and county

Shipley country park borders the south and west of the town and the steep wooded knoll with its own riding school and three lakes surrounding it, consists of the most of the former estate of the Miller Mundy family who lived at Shipley Hall, which was demolished in the 1940s.
