Your safer neighbourhood team is committed to making your community a safer and better place to live and work.
We are an active partner in the Hope Valley Neighbourhood Watch, which holds a bi-monthly meeting, usually during an evening, at the clinic on Eccles Close, Hope. They are informal and often feature guest speakers who cover a variety of subjects. If you like to come along contact PC Tony O’Brien or PCSO Steve Rogers, we will be pleased to see you.

We asked: What are the priorities in your neighbourhood?
You said: Nuisance behaviour and youngsters gathering on Marsh Avenue,
Hope.
We did: Increased patrols to advise youngsters and worked with Neighbourhood Watch members and the local housing officer to visit residents and speak to them about issues. Calls for anti-social behaviour in the area have more than halved. Our thanks go to everyone who has helped to achieve this.
You said: Nuisance behaviour and damage at the Recreational Ground, Water Lane, Bamford.
We did: Increased patrols to advise youngsters and liaised with the local council regarding security. The Pavilion has been refurbished and reports have reduced. Youngsters are also being encouraged to attend Bamford Youth Club, every Friday evening at the Memorial Hall on Brentwood Road.
You said: Nuisance vehicles at the Hollowford Centre car park, Castleton.
We did: Increased patrols to advise drivers about behaving in a safe and considerate way. The Roads Policing Unit has also made spot checks and one driver has had their vehicle seized.
These issues will be discussed at our next meeting at 7pm on Thursday, April 8 2010 at our community police office on Netherside, Bradwell.
