Little Hayfield

Little Hayfield was once a mill village from the 17th century onwards and is famous as the birthplace of Arthur Lowe, Capt Mannering in the classic sitcom dad’s Army. Today the village is a popular destination for walkers, day trippers and staying visitors to the Peak District. There are a lot of high quality gourmet public houses which also offer accommodation, as well as some wonderful quality campsites, a range of shops, including a chemist, post office, greengrocers, hairdressers, as well as a popular art Gallery and giftshop.

Hayfield is renowned for its annual country show and sheep dog trials held each September and it also has a very popular well dressing as annual carnival
