I am a member of the Game Angling Instructors Association (GAIA) and hold the Advanced Professional Game Angling Instructor (APGAI) qualification in all three disciplines, namely Trout and Seatrout(single handed casting), Salmon (double handed casting) and Fly Dressing.  I am a qualified Level 2 Coach in Game Angling.   I have fished for over 50 years and Instructed in Fly Fishing and Fly dressing for over 40.   Most of my working life has been involved with fishing.    I have worked as a river keeper on some of England’s finest game rivers including the Hampshire Avon and the Derbyshire Wye, where I was Head River to the Duke of Rutland at Haddon Hall, as well as on still waters in Sussex.    I have also worked as a Fly Fishing Instructor and Guide both in my own business and with one of the largest Fly Fishing retailers in the country.    I have fished throughout the UK and Ireland as well as France and the USA.   My experience stretches across Coarse, Game and Sea fishing with both bait and fly but these days I concentrate on fly fishing only.

I have demonstrated my skills at Game Fairs and Shows in the UK, Holland, Germany and the USA and have written one book, contributed to others and written extensively for a number of regular monthly magazines.   I have 3 Fly Tying DVDs on the market and am featured in another, Modern Fly Fishing – Dry Fly by Mountain Media which is currently available on the British market.

These days I concentrate my efforts on Instruction, Guiding, Fly Tying and video work.   During the winter I demonstrate to clubs and groups on my experiences in the fishing world and give video backed talks and demonstrations on fly dressing and other fishing topics.
