Wessington is a village renowned for the ancient custom of well dressing which is only found in Derbyshire. It has six natural wells on its main village green which was still used in the 1950s. It is also a site of special importance as declared by English nature as it hosts a wonderful nature reserve. The village dresses six wells and has been doing so since 2002.
